FOR THE PERFECT ROTATION AUTOMATIC COMPONENT CODING AND TESTING IN MEDICAL TECHNOLOGY Medical centrifuges are subject to the strictest safety regulations and test guidelines. An ideal case for the testing experts at MARQ4 Automation. TASK Development of a guided manual workstation for coding and testing components for medical laboratory centrifuges. THE PROJECT Our customer‘s high-tech centrifuges are operated with dif- ferent rotors for specific applications, which hold the samples during centrifugation. The centrifuge automatically recognizes the attached rotor and uses the stored rotor properties to check whether it matches the selected centrifuge program. For this purpose, the rotors are coded with permanent magnets, which are tested using our test procedure. OUR SOLUTION We develop a user guidance system using an HMI display that guides the operator intuitively through the individual work steps and provides audio-visual feedback to prevent operating errors. The inserted test rotor is first identified by QR-Code scan. The almost free-floating test arm developed by us can be posi- tioned ergonomically above the rotor to be tested. The test arm writes up to 30 product characteristics into an NFC tag on the rotor and locks it. The parameters are written in parallel to an SQL database for complete documentation. This coding is used for identification in the subsequent production process. In a further process step, the permanent magnets of the rotor, which charac- terize its product properties, are read out using Hall sensors to check whether the measured value and the characteristic data of the product variant are congruent. BENCHMARQ FOR E-MOBILITY ASSEMBLY AND TESTING SYSTEM FOR INNOVATIVE BATTERY MANAGEMENT RELIABLE CONTROL OF BATTERIES: BATTERY MANAGEMENT CONTROLLER We are currently contributing our core expertise to the new assembly line for the Battery Management Controller (BMCe). This component controls and monitors the vehicle batteries. We developed, designed and built an assembly and testing system for a large automotive group from Germany, which assembles the control unit for the controller fully automatically and integrates it into the BMCe. FROM MICRO-OHMS TO 2500 V HIGH VOLTAGE - EVERYTHING UNDER CONTROL Two test systems and an end-of-line tester check at six stations whether the resulting Battery Management Controller extended (BMCe) fully meets all quality specifications. Our benchmark and that of our customer: 100% perfection for all 134 test characteristics - including complex continuity tests and resistance measurements in the micro-ohm range or insulation measurements up to 2,500 volts. With a maximum cycle time of 30 seconds per BMCe. HEAVY WEIGHT CHAMPION The extraordinary dimensions of the components were a par- ticular challenge during the development of the system. This is because their impressive weight and special size have an impact on handling within the assembly and testing line. After all, the robots, which are more than a man‘s height, have to handle loads of up to 300 kg in a very confined space. HIGH-TECH LIGHT SYSTEMS IN VEHICLE ASSEMBLY, CALIBRATION AND TESTING OF LED COMPONENTS MORE THAN JUST ATMOSPHERIC LIGHT Dynamic Light is the innovative light strip of a German premium car brand, which provides atmospheric light in the vehicle, but also communicates safety-relevant information, e.g. in conjunction with the blind spot assistant. We have designed an assembly and testing system for this product for the Marquardt Group at the Ichtershausen production site. FULLY AND SEMI-AUTOMATIC ASSEMBLY STATIONS In the assembly system, individual PCBs are first separated fully automatically, transported further and connected to long components in the next station using jumpers. The durability and conductivity of the connections are tested inline using force-dis- placement measurement. The PCB composite and light guide are married in the next process step. In the final assembly stage, the components are then cleaned with ionized air to ensure they are largely free of particles before the upper and lower parts of the housing are joined to form the finished product. Each handling system in the plant works with 10 grippers that enable fast product changes.

SYSTEM SOLUTION AND IMPLEMENTATION The decisive parameter for the arrangement of the shrink- wrapped salmon is the cutting direction of the fillet slices. To ensure that the salmon does not lose its orientation on the conveyor belt, we have developed a system solution in which optical data acquisition and robot control are synchronized in a very small space. The software and interfaces of the system components guarantee that the optical data is recorded and converted into command pulses for the robots every second. The result: maximum process speeds and optimum efficiency. Hardware, camera technology, robot controller and in- house software must work together harmoniously so that the pack can be transferred to the corresponding gap at the end.
